Price drop, new look for Colt bakkie

accreditation

According to Mitsubishi the focus of the updated line-up is on safety, and driver and passenger airbags for all Mitsubishi Rodeo models and 4x4 Club Cabs are now a feature.

Furthermore the alarm and central locking system has been improved and is now also fitted to the 2.0 Hi-Line, 2.8 Hi-Rider and 2.4 Trailbuster. The key and remote for the new bakkies are now the same as that of other Mitsubishi products.

A new grille and redesigned front-end gives the Mitsubishi bakkie range a more aggressive look, whilst the front bumpers are completely new too.

Added to this new look on the Mitsubishi Rodeo and Club Cabs is Symphonic Silver large wheel arch flares, bumpers and roll bars.

For enhanced lighting on all Mitsubishi Rodeo?s and 4x4 Club Cabs, integrated foglamps are fitted as standard. In addition, the Mitsubishi Club Cabs are now fitted with electric windows as standard.

All new Mitsubishi Rodeos and Club Cabs have a trim finish with a silver aluminium look.

More standard features

Another major improvement is the standard fitting 16-inch wheels and new alloys on all Rodeo 4x4s, as well as 265 tyres. The 2.4 and 2.8 Trailbusters are fitted with a new attractive steel rim.

The interior of the Mitsubishi Rodeo is complemented with a leather cloth combination while the range is fitted with a radio/front loader CD as standard.

This sounds system is optional for the Mitsubishi 2-litre petrol and 2.8 diesel single cab LWB standard models at R2 400.

Mitsubishi says that with the new Colt bakkie range they have been able to "rejuvenate some of the specification levels". This allowed Mitsubishi to review pricing and on certain models such as the 2.4 litre Trailbuster the price has been cut with as much as 6,3%.

On average the retail price of the Mitsubishi Rodeo models has fallen by a 3% reduction and the retail price on Mitsubishi Club Cabs increased slightly for the new features.

There is a minor increase of 0,7%, equating to approximately R900 on the Mitsubishi single cab models due to the fitment of the remote alarm and new features.

Engines

The engine line-up has remained unchanged and it ranges from a 2-litre 4 cylinder petrol engine to the 133 kW V6 fuel-injected 3000i engine.

There are a 3-year/60 000 km service plan offered on the Mitsubishi double cabs, and the other bakkies in the range come with a 2-year/100 000 km warranty as standard.

Service intervals vary from 7 500 km for the diesel models and 15 000 km for the petrol variants.
