Subaru's new boxer diesel engine will appear for the first time in a new diesel version of the Subaru Impreza and Forester, being unveilled at the Paris Motor Show next month.
Both cars will feature the 2.0-litre turbo diesel unit offering 108kW of power in the Forester and 110kW in the Impreza.
The torque figure for both vehicles is 350 Nm available between 1800 and 2400 r/min.
The claimed CO2 emissions are to be around 170g/km.
Fuel economy for both cars are expected to be around 6-7 litres per 100 km.
The diesel Subarus are destined for launch in South Africa too.
