Audi will use the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show to reveal the Cross Coupe quattro crossover concept with a brand new TDI engine.
The hulking concept strikes quite a silhouette with its dramatic curves and strong lines, while maintaining the signature Audi grille treatment.
The design study is equipped with 20-inch wheels (fitted with ceramic brakes) for off road excursions, and a fabric folding roof that can be opened and closed electrically.
Another highlight for the Cross Coupe is that it is powered by a brand-new four-cylinder TDI tubodiesel unit with outputs of 152 kW and 400 Nm. The new engine reportedly has a fuel consumption figure of 5.9 l/100 km, while the particulate filter and Bluetec system keep emissions down.
Suspension is via a McPherson strut and four-link rear axle combination. Quattro four-wheel drive and the S-Tronic dual clutch gearbox are included too.
Furthermore, Audi's MMI system can be operated using a touch pad while the monitor uses dual view technology allowing different images for the driver and front-seat passenger when viewed from specific angles. A new infotainment system is also being previewed on the concept.
