Here are the first photos of an exciting new Kia concept car which was unveiled at the New York Motor Show... Meet the sleek KOUP!
The KOUP follows the same design cues as the eye-catching EE concept from the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show.
There is a definitely a dash of Honda Civic and a bit of Mitsubishi's Evo X to the KOUP's front-end design, giving the car an aggressive appearance.
It also features Korean carmaker's new trademark H-pattern grille while there are narrow wraparound headlamps and a prominent air intake.
The car was styled at Kia's America Design Centre in California under the guidance of former Audi designer Peter Schreyer.
On the inside the sporty theme continues and the show car also comes with a pair of individual seats at the back.
Under the bonnet is a new direct- injection 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. With the help of a twin scroll turbocharger, it produces 216 kW of power and 393 Nm of torque at 2 000 r/min.
The engine is mated to a hi-tech six-speed semi-automatic box controlled either by a sequential style gearlever, or the steering wheel-mounted paddles.
