Kia's new Cerato, with a distinctly European-influenced design, is currently being shown at the Syndey Motor Show.
A key detail on the all-new Cerato is its attractive front end that previews Kia's new family face.
New Cerato is bigger than the car it replaces due to its longer wheelbase. It's wider than the current car, too, and Kia reckons it should be comfortably seat five occupants.
The show car is powered by a new 2.0-litre petrol unit using continuously variable valve timing that apparently provides performance on par with a 2.2-litre engine.
Cerato will not be shown at the upcoming Johannesburg International Motor Show, but will be available in South Africa in either the second or third quarters of 2009.
Specific model details are to be confirmed.
