THEATRE OF MOTORING: Head to the Nasrec Centre in Jozi this weekend (Oct 15/16) to check out the Theatre of Motoring at the Johanesburg International Motor Show.
Apart from the many vehicles on display, visitors to the Johannesburg International Motor Show this weekend can enjoy action at the Theatre of Motoring.

Motoring personalities Stuart Johnston and Hendrik Verwoerd will be the hosts with classic cars on display along with their owners giving demonstrations.

Various club members and motorsport competitors will be available to showcase their vehicles, among them multiple SA champions Mark Cronje and Hennie Groenewald and karting champion Fabienne Lanz.

The Cobra Club will rumble into the main arena with a dozen cars built by their owners and replicating the famous AC Cobra built by Texan Carroll Shelby from 1962-68 with Ford V8 engines ranging in size from 4.3 to seven litres.

SA CLUB SHOWCASE

The Reef Street Rod Club will show cars ranging from old Willys coupes, 1932 Ford Coupes and Chevy pick-ups from the late 1950s, each customised and sporting giant modified V8 engines. The club has been around since the late 1960's.

New rodding magazine Garage will have 10 hot rods on display on Saturday.

On Sunday (October 16) two Ignition TV presenters, Lindsay Vine and Marius Roberts, will be on stage to present the new Lamborghini Aventador.

Also on display will be the Subaru Production Car racer driven by Hennie Groenewald, the SA Rally championship Ford Focus crewed by Mark Cronje and Robin Houghton... and then there's the Thunder Tour, a group of enthusiasts whose only rule is that you drive a V8.
