Ford is showing its new Kuga crossover at the Johannesburg International Motor Show - a five-seater with all-wheel drive and suited for any road condition.
The Kuga borrows elements from the Focus and Fiesta, especially at the front courtesy of Ford’s new 'kinetic' design language. Distinctive headlights, a contoured bonnet and large trapezoid grille create an assertive sporty profile bolstered by its pronounced wheel arches and twin exhausts.
VERSATILE SUV
Power is derived from a 2.5, five cylinder petrol engine producing 147kW at 6000rpm and 340Nm at 1600rpm. The engine will be mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, with manual mode and fuel consumption is rated at a claimed 10.3/100km.
Dual driver and passenger and side air bags are standard.
Inside drivers will be treated to leather and heated front seats as well as a leather steering wheel and gear knob.
Other standard equipment includes a start button, cruise control, steering-wheel controls, power windows and rear parking sensors. The Kuga also sports Ford’s new capless refuelling system that was debuted on the current Focus.
The Ford Kuga is set to go on sale in SA before the end of 2011.
