Earlier in 2011 we reported on Subaru unveiling its new coupe at the Tokyo Auto Show. Now the Japanese automaker will showcase its BRZ in Europe at the Geneva international auto show.
The four-door BRZ, a vehicle developed in partnership with Toyota, is a rear-wheel drive sportscar which Subaru tips as being a “Pure Handling Delight - the driving experience taken to a new level”.
Under the hood is a 2.0-litre boxer engine capable of 147kW and 204Nm, said to propel the sports coupe from standstill to 100km/h in 6.8 seconds. The engine can be mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or automatic transmission.
SMALLER ENGINE
A 1.6-litre petrol unit will also be available.
The new BRZ will be equipped with Subaru's symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (SAWD) and 2012 marks the 40th anniversary of the system first introduced on the “Subaru Leone Estate Van” in 1972.
The 82nd Geneva auto show runs from March 6 - 18, 2012, in Geneva, Switzerland.
