Adding to the Opel Tigra TwinTop's appeal is the manufacturer's addition of a special model to the range - the Illusion.
With the Illusion, the two-seater's standard hard top is covered in a Bordeaux red canvas, giving the car a classic soft-top cabriolet look.
Apart from its new-look roof, the variant is also especially well equipped.
It comes with leather trim, heated seats, air conditioning, MP3-compatible audio system, on-board computer, two-layer metallic/pearlescent-effect paintwork, aluminium sport pedals, colour-coordinated safety belts and footwell mats, as well as 17-inch light alloy wheels in bi-colour design.
Customers still have the choice of two petrol engines - a 66-kW 1.4-litre or a 1.8-litre unit with 92 kW at its disposal. Both come with a five-speed manual transmission with drive to the front wheels.
As with the "regular" Tigra TwinTops, the switch from coupé to cabriolet is electronically controlled and should take about 18 seconds to complete.
The special edition TwinTop is being shown at the Geneva Motor Show. There aren't any plans to bring the "Illusion" to South Africa.
