Building on the runaway success of its Qashqai, Nissan will reveal a smaller five-door crossover concept at Geneva.
Although Nissan has supplied just one teaser image, the manufacturer says the concept, called Qazana, provides an indication of what its next compact car could resemble.
According to Nissan, the show car's design is dominated by oversized wheel arches and Qazana will be equipped with "suicide doors".
The production car, which will replace the current Micra on its Sunderland line when production of that model ends in 2010, should "challenge conventional wisdom about what buyers of small five-door cars should expect".
The name of the production version remains unknown.
