RS4 muscle for Audi A4 cabriolet

The introduction of these two new models will round off the RS4 family. Audi unveiled the RS4 sedan in 2005 and this model is due to go on sale in South Africa in May - it will have a price tag of about R600 000.

As with the sedan, the cabriolet and Avant model come with Audi's 4.2-litre FSI V8 engine.

This V8 develops 310 kW at 8 250 r/min while maximum torque is 430 Nm at 5 500 r/min of which 90% is available between 2 250 en 7 600 r/min.

Both the RS4 cabriolet and Avant rocket from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, while it takes the sedan only 4.8 seconds. On all three versions, the speed is governed electronically when the needle reaches 250 km/h.

Audi South Africa spokesperson Rudi Venter told Wheels24 that there is no decision yet on whether the RS4 cabriolet and Avant will go on sale here.
