The production version of Ford's new SUV - the very stylish Kuga - debuts at the Geneva Motor Show.
Inspired by the Iosis X concept shown at the 2006 Paris Motor Show, the Kuga concept was shown at last year's Frankfurt Motor Show and makes its production debut at next month's show.
The Blue Oval's latest SUV will be issued with one engine only at launch - a 100-kW 2.0-litre turbodiesel mated with a six-speed manual transmission.
It will be offered with a choice of either front- or four-wheel drive.
With the Haldex permanent four-wheel drive system, Kuga is said to be relatively capable off road, too.
Kuga will also be fitted with a split tailgate to make loading easier and a modular interior that can be adapted to accommodate different load sizes.
The Focus-based SUV makes its official appearance at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, but Kuga is not promised for South African buyers.
