Citroen charges forth with Survolt
Citroën shows its sporty Survolt concept with an all-electric drivetrain at the Geneva Motor Show.
An extension of the Revolte hybrid concept shown at Frankfurt last year, Survolt is more athletic and at the future of Citroën’s sports coupes.
Just 3.85 m long and 1.2 m high, Survolt’s dimensions address its sports car-inspired design, which features a sculpted bonnet, elaborate flanks and oversized wheel arches. Adding a contemporary edge are slim headlights with LED clusters and integrated double chevrons across the front end. At the rear, the car borrows light clusters seen on the Revolte, but adds a sporty spoiler.
Two-tone exterior paintwork is a combination of fuchsia (yikes!) and charcoal grey, while chrome and aluminium is used throughout the cabin in a display of luxury. Citroën even goes as far as saying Survolt’s two-person cabin resembles a “piece of fashionable jewellery”…
Although its latest concept is said to be in step with the carmaker’s 90 years as an innovative brand, we think that most car owners would – if this makes it to production – prefer something, dare we say it, less creative? It does seem lots of fun, though.
