Audi says A6 allroad not for South Africa
However, Audi SA spokesperson Rudi Venter told Wheels24 that the allroad isn't destined for local introduction. According to Venter the new Q7 will fill the gap left by the allroad.
The vehicle's basic design is similar to that of the A6 Avant but comes with some striking off-road features.
Thanks to its length of 4.93 metres and wheelbase of 2.83 m, there is room for five passengers and the load area features intelligent stowage ideas.
To power the vehicle, four direct-injection engines are available, two petrol and two diesel. The 3.2 FSI is a V6, developing 188 kW; the 4.2 FSI is a V8 developing 257 kW.
Both diesels with common rail injection are six-cylinder engines with a displacement of 2.7 and 3.0 litres respectively. Key data here: 132 kW and 171 kW.
Power is transmitted by a six-speed manual transmission or tiptronic, also with six speeds. As standard, quattro permanent four-wheel drive distributes power to all four wheels.
The standard adaptive air suspension offers five modes for the body, including two settings for off-road driving. Here the ESP stabilisation program, which has been further developed especially for the A6 allroad quattro.
