Here are the first official photos of Aston Martin’s latest stunner - the DBS Volante drop-top.
Aston Martin will show the Volante convertible at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show alongside the V12 Vantage and new Lagonda sedan.
"Volante" is an Italian word meaning "moving with light rapidity"
The DBS Volante gets the same potent 6.0-litre V12 as the coupe, with which its shares most of its styling cues too.
Aston's new topless beauty has a fabric roof, which drops away in just 14 seconds and up to speeds of 48km/h.
Although the bonnet, front wings and bootlid are made from carbon fibre, the DBS Volante is heavier than its coupe sibling. Because of extra strengthening the Volante tips the scales at 1810kg - about 115kg more than the coupe.
The 6.0-litre V12 is rated at 380kW and 570Nm, while dashing from 0-100km/h in 4.3sec with a claimed top speed of 307km/h.
A rear-mounted six-speed manual gearbox is standard and a "Touchtronic" six-speed semi-auto transmission is optional.
Carbon ceramic brakes do the stopping while adaptive dampers and double wishbone suspension with 20-inch alloy wheels and Pirelli P-Zero tyres will assist the Volante in keeping its pose.
