The Mitsubishi Concept cX is poised for a Frankfurt Motor Show unveiling, and this crossover SUV previews several new concepts for the manufacturer.
The concept, which is meant to preview an everyday SUV, uses a new 1.8-litre "clean" diesel engine with a variable geometry turbocharger and a diesel oxidation catalyst with particulate filter that ensures the motor complies with more stringent Euro 5 emissions standards.
The cX's new powerplant is also mated with a new Twin Clutch Sport Shift Transmission (SST).
Mitsubishi's electronically controlled four-wheel drive system takes care of the handling.
A number of new environmental technologies sees the interior trim materials made from Mitsubishi's own Green Plastic. Using bamboo and "other plant-based resins", the plastic is part of the manufacturer's efforts to reduce its impact on global warming.
Furthermore, the crossover has an overall length of 4 metres, making it compact for easy piloting around town, while a split tailgate makes loading and unloading a breeze.
The concept cX makes it debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
