The latest Porsche 911 Turbo has been revealed and will make its first official appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
In typical Porsche tradition the newcomer looks virtually unchanged from its predecessoris ithe updated version is virtually indecipherable from its predecessor!
In terms of design changes the new 911 Turbo features chrome headlight surrounds, new foglights and fresh wheel designs.
However, the biggest changes lurk under the bonnet.
The 911 gets an all-new 3.8-litre direct-injection, twin-turbo flat-six thrusting out 368kW. With a top speed of 312 km/h it goes from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. According to Porsche the new 911 Turbo has lower weight, enhanced driving dynamics and improved fuel efficiency.
Porsche also says it has cut CO2 emissions and fuel consumption by about 18%.
The PDK twin-clutch gearbox has been revised and can now be specced with standard wheel-mounted levers – pull the left to change down and the right to shift up – rather than the confusing push button setup on the original versions.
The new 911 Turbo will arrive in SA early in 2010.
