Mazda is to show a revitalised Mazda RX-8 at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Thought it won’t be an all-new model the ageing sports car will get several aerodynamic updates, new tail lights and a fresh interior.
Mazda isn’t to mess with the RX-8’s brilliant underpinnings while this rear-wheel-drive car will come with a 171kW rotary mid-engine with a second knock sensor to improve efficiency. Torque remains the same at 211 Nm.
Also standard is the limited-slip differential, anti-lock brakes, and stability & traction control.
The facelift will bring the ageing RX-8’s looks in line with that of other new Mazdas such as the 3 and 6.
