These are the first official images of Ford’s new C-MAX – a stylish MPV aimed at the Mazda5 and Renault Scenic. It is due to appear at the Frankfurt Motor Show later in September.
Taking its styling cues from the stunning iosis MAX concept unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, Ford’s newest model adopts the carmaker’s kinetic design language as spearheaded by the popular Fiesta.
With it’s swooping coupe-like roofline, swept back headlights and sculpted body panels the C-MAX could steal the limelight in the MPV segment. Comfort, space and practicality are also part of the mix.
A sliding rear door provides easy access to the rear seats, while the C-MAX will be the first Ford to receive a brand-new 1.6-litre turbocharged direct-injection EcoBoost unit.
It is also Ford’s first product to be based on the company’s new C-segment platform, which is destined for use by the next Focus.
