Zoomed-up Mazda6 zooms into SA

Since launch, the Mazda6 has notched up over 107 awards by June 2005, including numerous Car of the Year titles around the world.

The updated Mazda6 sees the introduction of Mazda's next generation petrol engines:

  • 2.0L: 108 kW @ 6 500 r/min, 184 Nm @ 4 000 r/min
  • 2.3L: 122 kW @ 6 500 r/min, 207 Nm at 4 000 r/min

    There is also a new six-speed manual gearbox replace as well as a new five-speed Activematic automatic gearbox with Mazda's Direct Electronic Shift Control.

    According to Mazda the latest Mazda6 features numerous body, chassis and suspension revisions resulting in better handling, safety and comfort.

    Detailed styling updates include A new grille design, complemented by restyled front and rear bumpers.

    Both the headlights and tail light clusters now boast upmarket black bezels, while the revised dual exhaust pipe treatment, slim lip-type rear spoiler and exciting new range of 16 and 17-inch alloy wheels add further allure.

    The range-topping 2.3-litre model comes with the new Sports Appearance Package which ads further zoom to the car's appearance.

    The range also boasts new interior trim materials, greater ergonomic functionality and better craftsmanship.
