The next-generation Subaru Forester is destined for its unveiling at January's Detroit Motor Show, and official images have surfaced.
These images show the latest SUV's design is heavily influenced by that of the Tribeca MPV and the latest Impreza hatchback launched in South Africa in November.
Significantly larger than the vehicle it replaces, new Forester remains a five seater albeit with gains in passenger space, particularly for those on the rear bench.
Forester shares its underpinnings with the latest Impreza and its interior is said to be inspired by that of the subcompact, too.
Equipment levels are reportedly also higher than before, while the SUV will retain the driving dynamics it has become renowned for.
The SUV will be introduced locally in 2008 and will likely feature a turbocharged and naturally aspirated 2.5-litre boxer engine and a 2.0-litre turbodiesel unit.
