Chev is aiming the Captiva at the European market and there is a good chance that it could come to South Africa too.
The Captiva is specifically developed for the Chevrolet brand but will share some genes with the forthcoming Opel Frontera.
It will be available with 2.4-litre and 3.2-litre V6 petrol engines. There will also be a 110 kW 2-litre common-rail diesel model.
It will be available with seven or five seats respectively. Customers will also have the choice between front-wheel and four-wheel-drive variants.
This SUV is slightly bigger than a Toyota RAV4 and has a length of 4.64m, is 1.85m wide and is 1.73m high.
If it reaches the South African market it will probably only be here early 2007.
