Subaru is set to celebrate 20 years of Legacy with a futuristic concept model at the Detroit auto show in January. With the D-segment four-door accounting for nearly half of Subaru’s North American sales, a concept showcasing future design language for the Legacy range is key to priming a market which is slipping into seemingly inexorable decline. No surprise then, whilst most manufacturers have shunned the Detroit motor show; Subaru will be there.Details are understandably sketchy for now, though the concept will feature Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive system (what else?) and be powered by the 3.6l, flat-six currently found in the Tribeca SUV. Subaru promises a thoroughly contemporary interior design, which will hopefully be more Tribeca influenced than Forrester sourced.
