Kia's new large SUV, the Borrego, was recently unveiled in Korea ahead of an international debut at the upcoming Detroit Motor Show.
Badged the Mohave in its home market, the SUV is a definite upmarket shift for the manufacturer, and follows in sister company Hyundai's footsteps with its new Genesis executive sedan.
Using a body-on-frame structure, the seven-seater Borrego is expected to sell on value for money and a long list of safety features, along with Kia's 10-year warranty.
The SUV will be equipped with either a V6 engine or, in selected markets, the manufacturer's first V8.
It is reported that apart from just looking the SUV-part, Borrego will also be a capable 4X4 with variable air suspension, hill descent control and a low-range gearbox.
Borrego goes on sale in international markets from mid-2008.
