Triton to arribe here early in 2007

Mitsubishi Motors has revealed the new Triton light commercial vehicle (LCV) / bakkie for its first public showing in SA, at the Auto Africa show.

A completely new model, the Triton is expected to enhance the current Mitsubishi LCV range.

The Triton is a total redesign of the current Mitsubishi LCV, and is assembled at the Mitsubishi plant in Laem Chabang, Thailand.

The Triton will initially be available in a 4x4 derivative at local Mitsubishi dealerships towards the end of the first quarter of 2007.

Local production of the model will commence at the DCSA plant in East London in mid 2008.

The current Colt model, especially as a work-horse in single and Club Cab design, will be phased over a period of a year.

Monthly sales of 200 units are projected in the Southern African market.

According to Wheels24's info pricing for the Triton will be about 5% to 8% above that of the current Colt range.
