Focus on fuel economy at show

accreditation
Auto Africa - SA's first international standard motor show - from October 26 to November 5 at Nasrec Expo Centre - will also showcase the newly launched, globally acclaimed fuels range, called, BP Ultimate.

A specially developed split engine vehicle will be on display at the BP stand at Auto Africa to demonstrate how BP Ultimate's superior cleaning properties compare to ordinary fuel.

Tebogo Mekoa, BP's Product Manager for Fuels, explains that BP Ultimate has been specially formulated to clean cars' engines as they drive, allowing them to run more smoothly and efficiently.

So efficiently, that laboratory testing and vehicle fleet trials show that as a result of its ability to remove deposits from dirty engines and keep engines clean, BP Ultimate can deliver a fuel economy benefit of up to 25 kms per tank.

"It not only keeps engines like new, but also has the ability to remove engine deposits caused by the use of ordinary fuels. It contains up to four times the cleaning power of ordinary fuels, which means that with regular use, even the most stubborn performance robbing deposits, often found in vehicles, can also be removed."

Independent tests conducted by experts at the Centre for Automotive Engineering (CAE), on a representative range of cars in SA, showed that BP Ultimate unleaded removes an average 75% of existing inlet valve deposits.

In addition, tests on BP Ultimate diesel, which has also been formulated to remove deposits on critical engine components, such as fuel injectors, have shown that fuel flow can be increased by 380% at the critical stage of injection.

"BP Ultimate delivers a unique combination of enhanced engine performance, while providing greater fuel economy with reduced exhaust emissions through its powerful engine cleaning action", says Mekoa.

The new fuel - available in both petrol and diesel variations - is designed for all types of vehicles, from vans and family cars to hatchbacks and luxury models - allowing all drivers to benefit and is available at selected BP service stations nationally.

Tickets for the show are R50 for adults and R20 for children under 12. Doors open from 08h00 to 18h00.
