BACK TO THE MAIN STORY

Victory Motorcycles is a story of American and South African success offering, in South Africa as well, a genuine performance alternative to the usual array of cruisers from the US.

Victory has released a special 15th Anniversary version of its Cross Country Tour - the Limited Edition - and it will be the main feature on the Victory stand at the Amid Motorcycle Expo from August 8-11 at the Nasrec Exhibition Centre south of Johannesburg.

With XM radio, four speakers and a Garmin GPS this Limited Edition model has all the amenities a touring rider should expect, including lockable luggage with lid rails that hark back to the very first Victory, the V92C.

ONE MODEL, BACK THEN...

That bike came off the production line in 1998 - a red over black V92C with gold pinstriping; 15 years on and a run of only 150 of the anniversary units will be assembled with commemorative paint and anniversary badges.

Victory Motorcycles offered only the one model 15 years ago but now has a wide range of Cruisers, Baggers and Tourers. Visitors to the expo will be able to get up close to them, including the gutsy Judge and the glitzy Boardwalk – a contender in the recent SA Bike of the Year.

Bryan Berger, MD of Victory in South Africa, said: "It is also a celebration for Victory Motorcycles in South Africa. We've been in South Africa for five years and the brand has been growing at an extraordinary rate. Even more satisfyingly, our customer retention has been amazing – it really is a case of once you own a Victory, you will always own a Victory!”
