Audi has introduced a diesel version of its A7 range and the new entry-level engine is now being introduced to the South African market.
The 3.0 TDI engine produces 150kW and is matched to a Multitronic transmission. It consumes on average 5.3 litres/100km, corresponding to CO2 emissions of 139g/km. This engine has a recuperation system, thermal management and stop/start system as standard.
This new addition will cost R649 500 inclusive of all taxes and the standard five-year or 100 000km Audi Freeway Plan.
S7 SPORTBACK
The A7 range was further enhanced late in 2012 with the S7 Sportback. It has a twin-turbo V8 engine which delivers 309kW from a displacement of four litres while transmitting 550Nm of torque from 1400 to 5200rpm.
The first cars were delivered to customers in January 2013. The S7 Sportback costs R919 600
RS 7 SPORTBACK
The automaker will expand this range with the introduction of the RS7 Sportback, to be launched in South Africa later in 2013. This model will be available to order in August 2013.

The twin-turbo V8 displaces 3993cc with 412kW available from 5700-6 700rpm. A constant 700Nm of torque is available between 1750-5 500rpm. The sprint from 0-100km/h takes 3.9 seconds. The speed governor can be deactivated on customer to allow the car to reach 305km/h.
It consumes on average 9.8 litres/100km, helped in its frugality by stop/start, thermal management and cylinder-on-demand technology as on the S7 Sportback.
The RS7 Sportback will be available in Tiptronic transmission only and standard with quattro all-wheel drive. Further details on the car will be available closer to its local launch later in 2013.
