Mahindra has launched a new version of its Genio bakkie range - the Genio Plus.

The new Plus version joins the existing single-cab and double-cab Genio bakkies but is equipped with higher levels of kit.

The Genio Plus gains new alloys, bull bar, new bumpers, side-steps and cab-mounted roll bar. In addition, the cargo box, which also gains a roll bar, is rubberised and carrying capacity is rated in excess of 1000kg. 

ADDED KIT

Standard kit includes durable cloth upholstery, power windows, fog lights, aircon, Radio/CD/MP3 audio system with SD card slot as well as USB connectivity, central locking and power side-mirrors.

The pick-up is also fitted with an anti-lock braking system.

POWER

Powering the Genio Plus is Mahindra's mHawk four-cylinder, 2.2 litre turbodiesel capable of 88kW/290Nm mated to a five-speed manual, driving power to the rear wheels.

Fuel consumption is rated at 7.9 litres/100 km with emissions of 210g/km. It has a claimed range of 900km from its 74 litre fuel tank.
