Mercedes-Benz adds some vooma to its popular Vito range with the new V6-powered 120 CDI Sport.
The flagship model uses a new 3.0-litre V6 common rail turbodiesel producing 150 kW at 3 800 r/min and 440 Nm of torque from 1 600 - 2 400 r/min. The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission.
Mercedes reckons that with all that torque available so low down in the rev range, this eight-seater Vito would be very happy in a leisure environment that would require towing to far-flung destinations.
According to the manufacturer, the 0 - 100 km/h sprint time comes up in under 10 seconds and has a top speed of almost 200 km/h.
As for its appearance, this Vito comes with alloy wheels and body coloured bumpers and side strips.
Accessories include a carrier bar, rear-mounted bicycle rack, a tow hitch, an iPod kit, a Garmin Nuvi 710 GPS and a Bluetooth kit.
Comfort equipment includes a radio/CD player, central locking, air conditioning, cup holders, standard privacy glass and an interior that can be rearranged in a multitude of ways.
Safety is on par with the rest of the Vito range and the 120 CDI Sport comes with ESP, ABS, ASR, EBD, BAS and start-off assist. The driver and passenger get the added comfort of airbags.
R420 000 (excluding VAT) buys you the 120 CDI Sport with a standard two year/200 000 km warranty and 24-hour emergency roadside assistance.
