Not to be outdone by Jeep's special edition model blitz, Land Rover has launched a limited edition version of its popular FreeLander 2 in South Africa. The new model sports unique interior and exterior design changes.
The new model has tweaks to the grille and wing vents and the rear has Land Rover's signature strip now finished in gloss black.
Design enhancments include pronounced front, rear bibs and side sills as well as a rear spoiler. The tailpipe, door handles and side mirrors are finished in black and the new model sports a unique 19" black alloy wheel design.
LUXURY INTERIOR
Inside, the limited edition model has new sports-themed power-adjustable seats. The interior is finished in leather with matching door casings and the head restraints have unique embossing.
Other additions to the interior include new carpets, silver facia elements and a unique pedal kit.
Based on the 2.2 SD4 HSE, the limited-edition Freelander 2 is powered by a 2.2 turbodiesel capable of 140kW/420Nm combined with Land Rover's second-generation Asin Warner AWF21 auto. The engine is mated to a power management system that charges the battery by recovering kinetic energy when braking.
If you'd like to get your hands on this 4x4 powerhouse, you'll need to contact Land Rover soon because, Landy says, only 50 will be imported. It will cost you R545 000.
