Lexus said the car is based on the GS platform but the RC is not just simply a two-door derivative of a saloon. It’s 30mm wider, 35mm lower and 70mm shorter in the wheelbase than the IS sedan, giving it a classic coupe stance.When it goes on sale in Europ, it will be available in the form of the RC 350 with a 234kW 3.5-litre V6 engine mated to an eight-speed sequential transmission. The RC 300h hybrid will be powered by a 131kW 2.5-litre petrol unit (total system output is 220kW) mated to an ECVT gearbox.Lexus SA said models and specifications will be confirmed closer to the launch.
