Lancer 2.0: More kit, same price

Mitsubishi says it has added kit and improved crash protection on its local Lancer 2.0 GLS sedan but kept the price. R239 900.

New features include Bluetooth, seven air bags, a reversing camera and touchscreen controls for its the audio system.

Mitsubishi SA CEO Jaco Oosthuizen said: “We listened to customers in terms of specification improvements and have been able to bring a much-improved medium car to South Africa.”

The exterior and cabin are unchanged

The two-litre engine produces 110kW/197Nm and drives through to a five-speed manual gearbox. Fuel consumption is rated at seven litres/100km.

Standard kit includes aircon, keyless entry and auto headlights. The seven air bags comprise  driver, passenger, seat, curtain and driver’s knee. Other safety equipment includes anti-lock brakes, electronic brake pressuredistribution and emergency braking assistance.

The Mitsubishi Lancer is covered by a three-year or 100 000km warranty and a five-year or 100 000km service plan. Service intervals 15 000km.
