Jeep SA buzzes in funky new Wranglers

MIDRAND, South Africa – Jeep is known for bringing limited edition models into its model range... so now there are Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited Polar Edition models. Polar? We don't know either...

Chrysler SA says its Jeep brand will continue to add to its limited edition 'buzz' models for the South African market.

The automaker says the Polars will be available in two and four-door variants based on the architecture of the Jeep Wrangler Sahara.

The cars have new grille with glossy black inserts, 18” aluminium rims with painted pockets and polished outer edges, a body-coloured hard top with tinted glass, a Mopar ‘Moab’ bonnet with a mountain motif and Mopar fuel-filler door. There’s also a new wheel cover on the rear door.

The Jeep Wrangler Polar Editions will be available in three colours - blue, silver and white.

Inside, says Jeep SA, there are heatable black leather seats with embroidered logos, leather-wrapped steering wheel with  a white treatment on its spokes as well as on ventilation bezels, passenger grab-handles and the instrument cluster dials.

There’s also pearl accent stitching on the steering wheel, seats, armrests and floor-console lid. Mopar slush mats finish off the interior. A Uconnect navigation radio is standard.

The Polar Editions are already available at nationwide dealers.
