Cape Town - It's been a long time coming but BMW finally released details about its new F90 M5.
We knew from previous reports that it would be the first all-wheel drive model and now we also know how fast it will be. Power comes from a 4.4-litre V8 bi-turbo engine, developing 441kW/750Nm.

The sprint times are outrageous: 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds and 0-200km/h in 11.1 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h but can elevated to 305km/h with the optional M Drivers' package.

All-wheel-drive
The all-wheel-drive system works in conjunction with a central transfer case (with multi-plate clutch) and distributes drive variably between the front and rear axle, as required.
BMW says its F90 model is a high-performance car for "every condition" fitted with its Active M Differential.

A specially tuned eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic allows the adjustment of the transmission’s characteristics to their personal preferences.
