Nissan's 2013 GT-R has been given several enhancemants to make the most of its V6 engine and further improve the supercar's handling.
Powering the all-wheel drive supercar is a refined version of its 412kW 3.8 twin-turbocharged V6 engine. New high-output injectors more precisely control fuel injection to improve mid-range and high-rpm responses.
The GT-R will be arriving in South Africa early 2013.
LAPPING THE 'RING
Applying lessons learned from the 2012 Nürburgring 24-Hour race, engineers have improved engine response, increased rigidity and altered the shock-absorbers, springs and front anti-roll bar.
The 0-100km/h time has, nissan claims, been reduced to 2.7 seconds (from 2.8). Nissan claims its new model is even faster around the Nürburgring, lapping the famous German circuit in 7min19.1 during testing in May 2012.

Kazutoshi Mizuno, creator of the GT-R, has revealed that 0.5 seconds were lost to traffic, indicating that the 2013 GT-R is capable of a hot lap time of 7min18.6, compared to 7min21 clocked by the current model.
New cam bolts have been installed on the front suspension to improve stability when cornering. Reinforcements have been made to the facia and instrumentation.
Nissan will reveal prices and specifications closer to the GT-R's launch in 2013.
