GENEVA, Switzerland – Toyota’s updated Auris range is among the huge range of new vehicles now on display at the 2015 Geneva auto show.

The new Auris comes with a refreshed exterior and interior styling and will arrive in South Africa later in 2015. Details of the upgraded range will be released closer to its local launch.

TWEAKED DESIGN

The revised units have longer overhangs, new bumpers, a new shark-fin roof antenna and can be equipped with a choice of 16” or 17” alloy rims.

The rear has been redesigned with the addition of new diode light clusters, a wider and deeper bumper and a chromed trim line.

Toyota SA said: "Internationally, the Auris also gets a new four-cylinder, direct-injection, 1.2 turbocharged engine but that will not be available in South Africa for now.

"Our current local engine line-up remains - hybrid and conventional."

IMPROVED CABIN

What will come is a new facia with a 10cm colour screen, upgraded trim and a redesigned instrument pod.

Toyota said: “In the cabin, the focus has been on higher levels of sensory quality using premium trim and finishes. Additional measures have been taken to reduce noise, vibration and harshness.

“The 2015 Auris range also benefits from suspension and steering revisions to improve ride comfort, handling and driver involvement."
