Geely South Africa has launched a limited-edition version of its MK2 hatchback for South Africa with more kit, leather upholstery and a tweaked suspension - the MK2 1.5 GL Limited

Henri Meistre, MD of Geely SA, said: “The MK2 was specifically upgraded for the South African market and is in high demand as we were only assigned a limited number of these outstanding value-for-money offerings.

“Our products are fast becoming better – better performance, better safety and, most of all, better value for money.”

The MK2 Limited builds on the standard model with a leather interior, sport-tuned exhaust, lowered suspension and vinyl decals.

The MK2 Limited is powered by a 1.5 petrol engine capable of 69kW/128Nm, coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. Fuel consumption is listed as 7.3 litres/100km.

Standard kit includes
•    Power-assisted steering
•    Anti-lock brakes with electronic pressure distribution
•    Power windows and locking
•    Air-conditioning
•    Radio/CD player with MP3/USB ports
•    Alloy rims
•    Driver's air bag
•    Reversing radar

All Geely models can be bought with a service plan covering two years or 60 000km, three years or 90 000km or four years or 120 000km. The MK2 Limited comes with a three-year or 100 000km warranty and AA roadside assistance.

Geely will open a research and development centre at its head office in Midrand, Gauteng. The centre will provide support and training for Geely personnel as well as develop SA-specific products.
