CHINESE MODEL ASSAULT

FIRST FOR GWM - SEDANS
GWM will launch its first four-door sedans in South Africa - C30 (B-segment) and C50 (C-Segment).

The C50, will be, according to GWM, “The most sophisticated passenger vehicle introduced by GWM South Africa to date”. It will be powered by a 1.5 turbo petrol.

GWM SA chairman Tony Pinfold said: “There is a definite trend towards engine downsizing in the passenger car market. The C50 is perfectly aligned with this technical direction, as it offers superb fuel economy, but without sacrificing power. The C50 will change a lot of perceptions of what a Chinese car can be.”

M4 CROSSOVER

Pinfold said: “We have high hopes for the M4 in South Africa as it will offer unique, trendy SUV-themed styling in a compact package at a very competitive price.”

H6 SUV
China’s top selling SUV, the GWM H6, will arrive in South Africa early in 2014. It will be offered with two – 2.0 turbo diesel and 1.5 turbo petrol.

Pinfold said: “What really sets the H6 apart is its ultra-spacious and flexible interior as well as the power and economy balance offered by the all-turbo engine line-up.”
