SPECIAL EDITION: Mercedes-Benz is calling this the '507' C63 AMG.

AFFALTERBACH, Germany – Anything with an AMG badge on it usually stirs all the right emotions and the exclusive “Edition 507” will be no different.

The Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG models keep evolving and the latest 6.3-litre V8 model has increased power, hence it’s being called "Edition 507" models. It will make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2013 from March 5.

The increase of 37kW now brings the power  up to 373kW with maximum torque of 610Nm. This stems from the shared technology found in the SLS AMG: the eight-cylinder engine features forged pistons, connecting rods and a lightweight crankshaft – making the car 3kg lighter.

The high-performance braking system with red brake callipers is fitted as standard, and plays a big role in the 0-100km/h sprint of just 4.2 seconds in the Saloon and Coupé models. The Estate takes 4.3.

The top speed of all variants is an electronically limited 280km/h thanks to the fitted AMG Driver’s package. The package also includes a voucher to attend an advanced driving course at the AMG Driving Academy.

Mercedes-AMG GmbH chiarman Ola Kallenius says: "The C 63 AMG with the classic 6.3  high-revving V8 engine is one of the most popular AMG high-performance cars in the world. With the new 'Edition 507' we are offering our loyal customers an attractive model variant which boasts higher performance and is more visually appealing."

The titanium grey-painted variable intake manifold is a characteristic feature of the sturdy V8 engine while the new engine control system finishes off the implemented powertrain measures.

On the styling fornt, there’s a horde of features to set it apart. First up is the aluminium bonnet which originates from the C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series – it has two openings which helps dispose engine heat. Then there’s the new AMG lightweight, cross-spoke wheels in 235/35 R 19 (front) and 255/30 R 19 (rear). These wheels are available in either titanium grey with a high-sheen finish or matt black with high-sheen rim flanges. And, if that wasn’t enough, there are also AMG sports stripes in matt graphite grey just above the side sills.

Other touches are finished off in high-gloss black paint along with darkened headlamps. Interior goodies vary between different porcelain designo leather options along with light-coloured contrasting stitching throughout the interior

Optional extras  include: door sill panels, illuminated in white featuring LED technology, floor mats, a rear axle locking differential, more wheel options and many more.
