An up-and-coming Indonesian designer has had a go at making an already opulent BMW 7 Series even more luxurious.
The collaboration with Paris-based Didit Hediprasetyo was created with the BMW Individual factory and this special edition will be limited to five units.
Fashion designer Hediprasetyo is perhaps best-known for his light and sophisticated couture work but was invited to join BMW’s exclusive Individual squad to try his hand at car design.
PASTEL LANDSCAPE
Pastel tones were used to distinguish the car from a regular 7 Series in a colour palette, the designer said, "inspired by the image of a lavender sky at sunset in a serene desert landscape”.
The exterior is finished in Frozen Diamond Metallic while the full leather interior is finished in Merino Silk Grey and contrasting piping detail in Merino Platinum. By way of contrast, a piano black lacquer finish is used for various interior trim details while the floor mats are lined with black ostrich leather.
While head restraints on the special edition feature the designer’s logo embossed in leather, two leather cushions provide extra comfort for those seated in the rear of the cabin. The standard Individual refrigerated box and champagne flute holders add their touch of opulence, while – if business can’t wait – a leather-lined folding table and front head restraint-mounted screens allow for internet and entertainment use.
Another handy feature is the dog basket finished in grey leather and alcantara and a vanity compartment built into the roof lining. The BMW Individual 7 Series by Didit Hediprasetyo has been on sale since May, 2012, but with only five cars being sold, good luck getting your hands on this frozen delight.
If you're more keen on Hediprasetyo's standard nine-to-five job, take a look at the video below.
