MODERN SPRINTER: The Sprinter badge has been dusted and attached to the new Toyota Corolla.
Toyota is heading back to its roots with the introduction of more athletic-looking Sprinter models to its Corolla range.
While these modern Sprinters are based on the range-topping Advanced specification they stand out thanks to their darkened 16" alloy rims, front fog lights, rear spoiler and chromed trim in the tailpipes. A new colour - Blue Metallic - has been introduced.
The cabin comes stocked with a high level of standard equipment, including power windows, audio system with iPod and Bluetooth connections, audio controls on the steering wheel and a full complement of air bags.
However, Sprinters add Alcantara to the leather seats, climate control, an anti-smash-'n-grab treatment for the side windows and “Corolla” scuff plates on the door sills.
The new Corolla Sprinter is available with a choice of 90kW 1.6 or 102kW two-litre petrol engine. Each is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
Stability control is standard on the two-litre.
