LONDON, England - The 2014 Citroen C1 will go on sale in the UK in July. The new C1 city car made its debutat the 2014 Geneva auto show, offers three trim levels – Touch, Feel & Flair – with the new Airscape versions in Feel and Flair trim.
Available with three or five doors, the C1 range starts at the equivalent of R149 400 for the new C1 Touch VTi 68 manual three-door to R214 000 for the C1 Airscape Flair VTi 68 ETG five-door.
HEFTY PRICE
Citroen of South Africa says the C1 will arrive here in September 2014 with both the new 1.0 and 1.2 petrol engines, although trim levels have not yet been confirmed. The current range four of one-litre models is list-priced on citroen.co.za from R108 900 to R137 900.

The UK cars (details of which follows) will be in showrooms there for rand equivalent prices ranging from R148 410 to R204 930. If that’s the price in the UK, local prices would most probably be even more expensive. How Citroen SA will handle the depressed rand will be interesting...
There will be eight body colour choices, including four metallic, along with three wheel designs and four interior upholstery choices. The fabric roof will be available in three colours for the Airscape models (black, grey and red).
The first of the two new engine choices is the one-litre e-VTi 68 Airdream engine (50kW) mated to a five-speed gearbox, featuring stop/start technology with a special aerodynamics pack or an optional ‘clutchless’ tronic gearbox.

The 1.2, three-cylinder petrol VTi 82makes 61kW/118Nm with a claimed fuel consumption of 4.3 litres/100km and 99g/km CO2 emissions.
C1 Touch's standard goodies includes anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-assist, electronic stability control, power steering, high-frequency remote central locking, power front windows, six airbags, an MP3 compatible audio system, a USB socket and LED daytime running lights.
Feel versions adds air con, radio, 18cm touchscreen interface with ‘mirror screen’ technology and steering-mounted controls, along with body coloured door mirrors and handles.
Flair has 15” alloy rims and additional features including a speed limiter, rev counter, reversing camera, heatable and adjustable door mirrors, a leather steering wheel and tinted rear windows.
Optional extras include auto air con and auto headlights, keyless entry and start; styling details such as black leather upholstery and various cabin colour packs.
