Citroen goes Wild... the next DS

2013-04-12 08:19

ANOTHER CITROEN DS STUNNER: The new DS Wild Rubis certainly looks funky and represents the next iteration of Citroen's stunning DS line.

Citroen hints at a future DS SUV with a concept model headed for the 2013 Shanghai auto show in April. It name: the DS Wild Rubis.

It could be the latest addition to the DS line, designed to be powered by hybrid, plug-in technology.

The model combines the presence of an SUV with DS-typical lines and curves. The DS Wild Rubis measures 4.7m long, 1.95m wide and 1.59m tall, with a a wheelbase of 2.9m.

The car’s silhouette is highlighted by a chromed signature on the side. The roof bars accentuate the impression of height while hinting at power and performance, before blending into the bodywork and flow of the profile of the rear wing.

Featuring the front-end design borrowed from the automaker's Numéro 9 concept, the front of the new model is characterised by the new grille design incorporating the DS emblem.

The rear lights appear to be part of the raised tail door and are encased in chrome, with chromed trim.

We'll have more information when the DS Wild Rubis makes its debut in Shanghai. For now, check out the new model in our gallery section and let us know your thoughts on a possible DS SUV.
