PARIS, France - Chevrolet's new Trax SUV made its global debut at the 2012 Paris auto show.
In 2013 Chevrolet will make its first entry to the fast-growing small SUV segment as Trax compliments the automaker’s large seven-seater Captiva.
The Trax is a small SUV, offered in a choice of three engines and all-wheel drive.
The engine line-up will include a 1.4 turbocharged petrol, 1.6 petrol well as a 1.7 turbo-diesel engine.
The 1.4 is capable of 103 kW/ 200 Nm and mated to a six-speed manual. The 1.7 diesel is capable of 96kW/300 Nm.
Start/Stop functionality is standard with manual transmissions.
Both the 1.7 and the 1.4 will be offered with a six-speed auto. The AWD system is only available on 1.4 and 1.7 variants.
According to Chevrolet loading space is rated at 1370 litres. In addition to a 60/40 split rear seat, the front passenger seat can be folded flat. A total of eight seating combinations can be selected.
The Trax sports the automaker’s MyLink system which aggregates content from smartphones onto a seven-inch touch-screen display. A navigation app which can be downloaded onto compatible smartphones will become available in 2013. The app will project routes from the smartphone onto the system’s touch-screen.

As part of the US automaker’s sponsorship of British Football team Manchester United, fans of Wayne Rooney and the rest of the Red Devils can now purchase a special edition Trax sporting the team’s colours and badging. Knowing how zealous some football fans can be, it might be a good idea to plan your daily commute accordingly, especially on game days.

Chev’s city car receives a makeover for 2013 as a facelifted Spark makes its debut at the Paris auto show. The front shows a dual-port grille, new bumper and reshaped head and foglight covers. The Spark also receives new 14 and 15-inch alloy wheels.
At the rear, the center mounted LED stop light has been integrated into the spoiler above the window, increasing visibility. New interior trim has been added as well as a remodeled center console with enhanced storage.
