CVT for tweaked Fluence

Renault unveiled its fresh Fluence in May 2013. In July, the French automaker adds a continuously variable transmission (CVT) model to its local line-up.

FLAGSHIP MODEL

Renault SA says the Dynamique 2.0 sedan with continuously variable transmission (CVT) is the flagship of its "phase two" line-up, making it the third variant in the 2013 range.

According to Renault, "The latest CVT technology is responsive at low speeds and ensures a smoother driving experience by avoiding gearshift shocks and, by enabling the engine to run at its most efficient rpm, the CVT reduces fuel consumption by 3% compared to its manual counterpart."

The CVT-equipped model produces 103kW/195Nm and can sprint from 0 - 100km/hour in 10.1 seconds onto a top speed of 195km/h. Fuel consumption is rated at 7.7 litres/100km.
