Budget Steed gets a facelift

BETTER LOOKING BUDGET WORKHORSE: At just under R150000, the Steed 5 double cab makes for a capable workhorse for any farm or small business owner.
GWM has given its single and double-cab workhorse bakkie, the 4x2 Steed 5, a mild facelift for 2012
The bakkie's grille has been tweaked and now resembles the Chinese automaker's newer products. GWM has also increased the load bay capacity and aircon has been added as standard.
The Steed 5 single and double cabs are powered by a four-cylinder, 2.2-litre, petrol engine driving a five-speed manual gearbox. The engine is capable of 78kW at 4600rpm and a torque peak of 190Nm from 2400-2800rpm. Power-assisted steering is standard.
