Suzuki's latest DR-Z70, just arrived in South Africa (Dec 2014), was designed specifically for young riders. Suzuki calls it "a little bike with a big heart".
It's powered by a four-stroke, air-cooled, 70cc engine mated to an automatic clutch. It has an electric starter and handlebar start-button.
Alternatively, riders can kick start the DR-Z70 and power can be controlled by the adjustable throttle limiter. There's also the security of a keyed ignition.

Suzuki says it's the lightest among its starter-motor equipped rival but still has a steel frame and included in its 55kg
The little city bike has inverted telescopic front forks with 97mm of wheel travel and a linkless rear swing arm, all riding on 10" tyres.
