PARIS, France - Aston Martin, in a year that has seen unprecedented investment along with the appointment of new CEO Andy Palmer, has turned its attention to the glamour and excitement of the Paris auto show.

The luxury British sports-car company says it will command attention with a European show debut for its V12 Vantage S Roadster alongside the public unveiling of the highly desirable new Vanquish Coupe Carbon Black special edition.

Aston Martin is in Paris with a show stand that it believes will be a favourite among the expected more than 1.2-million attendees who will make it the world’s largest Tier 1 motor show by attendance.

V12 VANTAGE S ROADSTER

The V12 Vantage S Roadster, Aston Martin says, is its most potent, quickest and fastest-accelerating series production convertible yet. "It delivers the most engaging open-top experience in the current range with sporting agility underpinned by an enviable ‘soundtrack’ generated by its V12 engine and expertly tuned sports exhaust."

The car, equipped with the latest 421kW Aston Martin AM28 six-litre V12 and state-of-the-art Bosch engine management, can reach 320km/h after dispatching the 100km/h sprint in 3.9 seconds.

The car on show in Paris showcases a number of high-end styling additions by what Aston Martin describes as "our brand’s blossoming personalisation programme" Q by Aston Martin.

Aston Martin said: “An expertly tailored Diavolo Red exterior paint gives way to an interior that includes a full carbon-fibre centre stack, saddle leather detailing and the now-synonymous Q by Aston Martin badges.

VANQUISH COUPE CARBON BLACK SPECIAL EDITION

Carbon Black or Carbon White - special-edition treatments for the Vanquish – creates, the automaker says, a sports car with a powerful road presence to match its 320km/h performance.

"The treatment," says the automaker, "accentuates the Super GT nature of the Vanquish through a strong, dark theme, underpinned by a unique combination of light carbon fibre as standard. The contemporary Carbon White edition also creates a dramatic visual appeal, contrasting the carbon fibre and dark elements against eye-catching white paint."

New features available for both versions include black window frames and 10-spoked gloss-black alloy rims. The theme continues into the cabin with a choice of accent colours and materials.

...AND THE OTHER MODELS

...sharing the limelight in Paris include the sporty V8 Vantage N430 and A Rapide S four-door sports car.

Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer said at the opening of the show on Thursday (Oct 2): “A busy show stand at Paris typifies the strength and optimism to be found throughout the Aston Martin business worldwide. The news of major investment, key technical alliances, new sports cars and the growing desire for more Q by Aston Martin personalisation gives everyone associated with the great British brand both deep pride in the present and real confidence for the future.”
