Paris - Citroën has announced its most CO2-efficient, conventionally powered, model yet - the new C3 e-HDi 70 Airdream EGS VTR+.
This new version of the C3 supermini with CO2 emissions of only 87g/km and a combined cycle fuel consumption of 3.4 litres/100km is now Citroën’s most fuel and CO2-efficient diesel car, ranking it among the very best in its class.
MICRO-HYBRID TECH
The car was first displayed at the September, 2011 Frankfurt auto show; the high-specified e-HDi 70 Airdream EGS VTR+ is available to order in Europe from November 2011 with the C3’s renowned giant panoramic Zenith windscreen.
The new model uses Citroën’s innovative e-HDi micro-hybrid stop/start technology and a refined and efficient 52kW direct-injection diesel engine that, Citroen says, can deliver 3.2 litres/100km on the open road. That's less than a small motorcycle...
Jules Tilstone, Citroën UK’s marketing director, sid: "Citroën is committed to driving down the cost of motoring and this new model is a perfect example of how to do that.
"With impressive fuel economy, low CO2 emissions and the benefit of no London congestion charge, this stylish model is a financially and environmentally attractive addition to the Citroën range.
"Underlining the brand’s firm environmental commitment, half of all Citroën cars sold through 2011 will emit less than 130g/km of CO2 and there has been a five-gram decrease in average CO2 emissions for the European range as a whole."
